Chiropractic Care Promotional Offers: Can You Use if You Have Government Insurance?
If you’re going to the chiropractor for the first time, you may be surprised to see promotional offers when you enter the office. You may wonder if you can take advantage of those offers. Well, it all depends on your insurance and if you have it. Here’s what you can expect of promotional offers when you have government insurance.
What Is Government Insurance?
Government insurance creates coverage for citizens. These government insurances include Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare and more. The three fall under different regulations and people have to meet different criteria to receive one of the other. Medicare and Medicaid often relate to income and short-term versus long-term care. Tricare, on the other hand, is a government insurance for military service members and their dependents. As with all health insurance, government insurances allow patients an opportunity to receive free or reduced healthcare. It provides them with an opportunity to receive healthcare.
Promotional Offers and Health Insurance
Promotional offers and other discount plans provide patients with a way to pay his or her medical bills and to be able to visit a chiropractor. Often, these discounts or promotional offers are for those who would otherwise have to pay for a visit. These promotional offers help the chiropractor draw in new clients. This first visit allows clients to decide whether chiropractic care is right for them. While on their visit, they get a clear idea of treatment options and the pricing that they may face.
Government Insurance Exclusion
In general, if you have government health insurance, you cannot take advantage of a promotional offer. Often, your insurance will cover you better than the promotional offer would have. The promotional offers are for those that may not be able to come to the chiropractor otherwise. When you have government insurance, most offices accept the insurance and so your bill will be low or reduced. You receive a deal when you have government insurance. Your bill cost may be a lot lower than it otherwise would have been. This means that you don’t necessarily need the promotional offer and is why most chiropractors will not offer the promotional deal to those on government insurance.
If you have government insurance, you may not need any promotional offer that a chiropractor offers. These discounts do not tend to be less than what you would normally have to pay under your insurance plan. When you have insurance, particularly Medicaid, Tricare or Medicare, you don’t need promotional offers and most chiropractors will not offer them.
